O R D E R

The prayer of the petitioners in this case is as under: 'This Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents, more particularly the 4th respondent, in calling the petitioners to the police station and making them to sit there for hours together under the guise of pendency of rowdy/history sheet as illegal, contrary to law and violation of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the 4th respondent not to harass the petitioners in any manner interfering with their personal life and liberty and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.'

Sri P.Narasimhulu, learned counsel for the petitioners, states that his clients would make a representation to the Superintendent of Police, Ananthapur District, seeking closure of the rowdy sheets opened in their names on the file of Gooty Police Station. As the petitioners themselves want to approach the authority concerned for redressal of their grievance, this Court sees no reason to entertain this writ petition for adjudication on merits.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of permitting the petitioners to make appropriate applications to the Superintendent of Police, Ananthapur District, the second respondent, seeking closure of the rowdy sheets opened in their names on the file of Gooty Police Station, Gooty, the fourth respondent. In the event such applications are made, the second respondent shall consider the same in accordance with the relevant Standing Orders and the law laid down by this Court in K.

expeditiously. Pending miscellaneous petitions shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
