Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Prohibition and Excise for the respondents.

Vide proceedings Cr.No.A1/202/2017/DCRR, dated 29.07.2017, the Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, Ranga Reddy region, ordered confiscation of Honda Activa 3G bearing No.TS 10EJ 1236 along with IML (defence liquor) involved in COR.No.74/2017, dated 10.06.2017, on the file of the Station House Officer, Quthbullapur, Telangana State. Against the said order of confiscation, the petitioner filed an appeal before the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise. In the said appeal, the petitioner also filed an application seeking release of the vehicle, pending appeal.

Since the petitioner has already filed an appeal before the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise and also sought for release of the subject vehicle and as the same is pending, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise to dispose of the main appeal itself within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of this order. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
