This writ petition is filed to direct the respondents 3 to 5 not to harass the petitioners by calling them to the police station daily and make them sit in the police station hours together.

This Court, while admitting the writ petition on 29.04.2014, granted the following interim order in WPMP.No.17486 of 2014: 'So long as the petitioners are not involved in any crime and so long as their presence is not required in connection with the investigation into any cognizable offence, they may not be summoned to the police station frequently and made to spend their time unproductively there.' At the hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that in view of the interim order, no further adjudication is necessary and that the writ petition can be disposed of in terms of the interim order. Recording the said submission, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents not to call the petitioners to the police station frequently and make them spend their valuable time unproductively in the police station. However, this order shall not preclude the police concerned to proceed against the petitioners, in accordance with law, whenever their presence is required in connection with any investigation into any cognizable offence. No order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, in this writ petition shall stand closed.
