Heard the counsel for petitioner, and Sri Pasham Krishna Reddy, learned Standing Counsel for respondent nos.2 and 3. 2.
The petitioner had applied for mutation before the 2nd respondent on 23.02.2016, but no action has been taken by respondent nos.2 and 3 on the said application till date. 3.
The matter was adjourned on 24.08.2016, 30.08.2016 and 01.09.2016.

On 01.09.2017, Sri Pasham Krishna Reddy, learned Standing Counsel for 2nd respondent, undertook that the 2nd respondent would pass orders on the petitioner's application within a period of one (01) week from that day and communicate its decision to the petitioner. 5.
To-day, on 14.09.2016, it is stated by the learned Standing Counsel for 2nd respondent that no orders have been passed by 2nd respondent, and a further time of one week is required to do so. 6.
The 2nd respondent is mandated under the provisions of the Act to consider applications for mutation.

In the present case, almost six months have elapsed since the petitioner had applied for mutation. It is unfortunate that in spite of

the undertaking given by the learned Standing Counsel for 2nd respondent that order would be passed in one (01) week from 01.09.2016, no such order has been passed till date. Therefore, the Writ Petition is allowed directing the 2nd respondent to pass orders within a period of one (01) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order on the petitioner's application dt.23.02.2016 for mutation without fail.

The 2nd respondent shall also pay costs of Rs.2,000/- to petitioner within two (02) weeks from to-day. 9.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is allowed with costs as above. 10.
As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending if any in this Writ Petition, shall stand closed.
