This petition is filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code (for short "Cr.P.C.") to quash the proceedings in Crime No.35 of 2018, on the file of Vangara Police Station, Vizianagaram District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 323 read with 34 of Indian Penal Code (for short "I.P.C.") and under Sections 3(1)(r)(s) & 3(2)(va) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (for short "the Act") on various grounds.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners/A-1 to A-4 and learned Public Prosecutor for the State of Andhra Pradesh representing the respondent-State. Perused the material on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioners requested the Court to direct the Station House Officer to follow the guidelines issued by the Apex Court in Dr. Subhash Kashinath Mahajan v State of Maharashtra and another1.

Acceding to the request of the learned counsel for petitioners, without touching the merits of the matter, I deem it appropriate to direct the Investigating Agency to follow the guidelines issued in Para No.83 of the judgment of the Apex Court in Dr Subhash Kashinath Mahajan's case referred supra, the Investigating Officer is directed to follow the said guidelines. 1 2018 Law Suit (SC) 233

MSM,J Crl.P.No.7517 of 2018 With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this criminal petition shall stand closed.
