The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition seeking the issue of a writ of Mandamus to direct the 3rd respondent to conduct counselling for admission to undergraduate medical and dental course, even in private medical colleges, by applying the rule of reservation.

2. Heard Mr. P. Subash, learned counsel for the petitioner.

3. The issue raised in this writ petition is covered by a decision of this Court dated 26.10.2016 passed in W.P.No.32205 of 2016. It was held therein that in the absence of any legislative mandate or executive orders of the Government, there is no basis for the claim for effecting reservations in Category 'B' seats. Therefore, following the same, the writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.

4. As a sequel, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
