O R D E R

The grievance of the petitioner was that he was not being enrolled as an advocate on the rolls of the Bar Council of the State. He sought a consequential direction to the respondents to do so. Initially, the writ petition was filed only against the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh. However, the Bar Council of India was impleaded thereafter as the second respondent. It is now stated by the learned standing counsel appearing for both the respondent Bar Councils that upon the proposal made by the State Bar Council in relation to the petitioner's application for enrollment, the Bar Council of India has passed a resolution and communicated the same to the State Bar Council under its letter dated 23.10.2015. As per Section 26(3) of the Advocates Act, 1961, the State Bar Council is required to dispose of the application referred to the Bar Council of India in conformity with the opinion of the Bar Council of India.

As this decision is yet to be taken, the writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to consider the opinion expressed by the Bar Council of India and take appropriate action in the matter in accordance with law. This exercise shall be completely expeditiously and in any event, not later than four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
