Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for the respondents.
The petitioner is the proprietor of Venkateswara Agencies. He obtained lease of a godown for the purpose of doing business and was doing business. He purchased 74.50 quintals of sugar. While so, the third respondent inspected his premises on 10.08.2017, conducted panchanama and seized the stock on the allegation that the petitioner did not possess a valid licence for doing business. Challenging the same, the present Writ Petition is filed. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had submitted a petition before the Joint Collector, Krishna District, Machilipatnam, on 07.09.2017 seeking release of the seized stock and when no orders are passed, he filed the present Writ Petition. He also submits that the petitioner is ready to furnish the bank guarantee.
In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Joint Collector to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law pursuant to the petition filed by the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
