WRIT PETITION NO. 28405 OF 2015 O R D E R :
This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction to the third respondent to pass appropriate orders on the renewasl application submitted by the petitioner for Arms License bearing No.VKB-107/10.
2. Heard Sri T. Subhash Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Home.
3. According to the petitioner he is an agriculturist and businessman and staying at Mominpet village and mandal of Ranga Reddy district. It is further stated in the affidavit filed in support of the petition that he made an application on 29/03/2012 to the third respondent requesting to renew his Arms License. Vide Lr.No.C3/1303/2012, dated 19/04/2012 the District Collector/ third respondent, addressed a letter to the Superintendent of Police/fourth respondent herein, requesting to verify as to whether any adverse remarks are pending against the petitioner. According to the petitioner, he got issued a legal notice on 18/03/2015 through his counsel, requesting the District Collector
for the information with regard to the said application. The sum and substance of the grievance in the present writ petition is that despite lapse of considerable length of time no orders have been passed by the District Collector on the renewal application submitted by the petitioner herein.
4. This court, in the facts and circumstances, finds no justification on the part of the third respondent in keeping the renewal application of the petitioner pending. In view of the above, this Court is of the considered opinion that the ends of justice would be met if a direction is issued to the third respondent to pass appropriate orders on the renewal application said to have been submitted by the petitioner on 29/03/2012 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission. No order as to costs.
