Petitioner was working as Driver. By office order, dated 19.12.2015, he was retired from service w.e.f. 19.12.2015. On the ground that the petitioner was declared as unfit to work as Driver, as per the Medical Report, he claims the provision of compassionate appointment to his son and to pay salary from 02.03.2015.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent - Corporation, on instructions, submits that the provision of compassionate appointment to the son of the petitioner is under consideration and the competent authority is awaiting the report of the Vigilance and Security Officer. He further submits that appropriate action would be taken by the respondent - Corporation soon after the report of the Vigilance is received.

Learned counsel for the petitioner also requests for disposal of the Writ Petition with a direction to take expeditious steps for the provision of compassionate appointment.

Having regard to the said submission, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondent - Corporation to consider the claim of the petitioner for provision of employment to his son on account of declaring him medically unfit to work as Driver, in accordance with the Circular No.PD-19/2015, dated 03.06.2015, and if the claim of the petitioner is valid and his son is entitled to
be provided employment, the same shall be provided. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision to the petitioner. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
