Dr.T.K. Srinivasulu, C.M.O. (Retired) & President, Vijaya Nagarjuna Consumers' Welfare Society Regd. No.486/2008, R/o. H.No.10-2-91/87 Flat No.202, Sai Mithra Orneta Apartments Street No.7, West Maredpally Secunderabad-500026 ... Petitioner And The Asst. General Manager State Bank of India Nampally Branch, Stressed Assets Recovery Branch (SARB) Latha Complex, MJJ Road, Nampally Hyderabad-500001, merged with State Bank of Sourashtra Temple Road Branch KPHB Colony, Kukatpally Ranga Reddy District Hyderabad and others ... Respondents

THE HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE SRI KALYAN JYOTI SENGUPTA AND THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR PUBLIC INTEREST LITIGATION NO.14 OF 2015 ORDER: (per the Hon'ble Sri Justice Sanjay Kumar) The petitioner, claiming to be the President of a consumers' welfare society, filed this writ petition ostensibly in public interest with the following prayer:

"...to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly a Writ of Mandamus calling for the entire records pertaining to Housing Loan Account No.66013821842 of Sri D. Sateesh Reddy and declare all the additional, penal interest and other charges of Rs.6,87,284/- as illegal, unauthorized and affecting the fundamental rights of Sri Sateesh Reddy guaranteed under Article 14 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct 1st to 3rd respondents to receive Rs.5,00,000/- out of Rs.9,53,586/- and reschedule the Housing Loan of Sri D. Sateesh Reddy by withdrawing Rs.6,87,284/- as other charges in the interest of justice and/or pass other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

It is clear from the above prayer that the petitioner seeks to protect the interest of one D. Sateesh Reddy and no public interest is involved in this matter. This public interest litigation is therefore utterly misconceived and is accordingly dismissed.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. ________________________ K.J. SENGUPTA, CJ _______________________
