Elections to the Gram Panchayats were held in the year 2013 and the elected Sarpanches, and Members of the Gram Panchayats, have been in office for more than three years.

The learned counsel for the appellants, and the learned counsel for the writ petitioners, would submit that the cause in these Writ Appeals and Writ Petitions do not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court. The Writ Appeals and the Writ Petitions are, accordingly, dismissed as infructuous. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed.
