HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE T.SUNIL CHOWDARY CRIMINAL APPEAL No.602 of 2006 JUDGMENT:

This criminal appeal is preferred by the sole accused challenging the judgment dated 18.4.2006 in C.C. No.25 of 2001 on the file of the Court of the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, City Civil Court, Hyderabad, whereby the appellant was found guilty for the offences under Sections 7 and 13(1)(d) read with 23(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, convicted and sentenced accordingly. 2.

When the appeal is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the appellant submitted that during the pendency of the appeal, appellant died and hence the appeal may be dismissed as abated. He also filed a photocopy of the death certificate of the appellant. A perusal of the same reveals that the appellant died on 08.12.2007. The copy of the death certificate is placed in the record. In view of the same, the appeal is liable to be dismissed as abated.

Accordingly, the criminal appeal is dismissed as abated. Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending in this appeal, shall stand closed.
