Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
It is the case of the petitioner that he joined as driver in the respondent Corporation on 26.06.1998 and continued till 2003 and in the year 2006 he approached the authorities for re- engagement of his services and he also made representations to the authorities on 06.02.2016 and 08.08.2016.
Learned Standing Counsel for the respondents submits that as on today, no notification is issued for engaging drivers on contract basis and hence, the case of the petitioner cannot be considered. The learned counsel for the petitioner has not shown any provision for considering the case of the petitioner. However, as and when a Notification is issued for engaging drivers on contract basis, it is left open to the petitioner to apply for the post of Driver and on receipt of such application, the respondent authorities shall consider the same and pass orders, if he is fit and otherwise eligible in terms of the notification.
In view of the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. The miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Civil Revision Petition shall stand closed.
