THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.37568 of 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India is filed to declare the action of the respondent police in registering the FIR No.106 of 2016.

Heard and perused the material available on record. The grievance of the petitioners is that the 4th respondent lodged a complaint against the petitioners for demanding additional dowry before the 3rd respondent and the 3rd respondent registered the same as Crime No.106 of 2016, dated 15.10.2016, for the offences punishable under Sections 498-A, 506 read with 34 IPC and Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Considering the grievance of the petitioners, the 3rd respondent is directed to complete the investigation in FIR No.106 of 2016 as expeditiously as possible and file a final report, if any, either way in accordance with law, without arresting the petitioners. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
