O R D E R
The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondent No.6 engaged the services of the 7th respondent - contractor for drilling/ blasting activities in the subject site, which is adjacent to the plot of the petitioner and the said activities of respondents 6 and 7, are causing noise pollution, which is beyond the levels prescribed under G.O.Ms.No.172 Environment, Forests, Science and Technology (ENV.) Department, dated 12.10.2010, and that though the petitioner has given representation dated 23.06.2018 to official respondents 2 to 5, no action has been taken till date, and respondents 6 and 7 are continuing with the said activities. Hence the present writ petition.
Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that when the petitioner made a complaint to the impleaded respondent - Telangana State Pollution Control Board, the official have monitored the noise level when the rock drilling works were going on under the supervision of the 7th respondent and addressed a letter to the 3rd respondent - Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, Hyderabad, enclosing a report dated 25.05.2018, stating that the noise level exceeded the standards prescribed both for residential and commercial areas, and requested to initiate action, but the said authority has not taken any action. He stated that as the petitioner is complaining about the illegal activities of the 6th respondent, there is life threat to her.
Heard the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home.
Since the petitioner is stated to have made representation dated 23.06.2018, the competent authority / 4th respondent - Assistant Commissioner of Police, is directed to take action on the said representation, in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the petitioner makes any complaint alleging threat to her life, the 5th respondent - Station House Officer, is directed to take appropriate action in accordance with law.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. Interlocutory applications pending, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
