THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE VILAS V.AFZULPURKAR WRIT PETITION No.33132 OF 2015 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Solicitor General for the respondent.

The only grievance of the petitioner is that his application, dated 23.04.2015, for renewal of his passport is not being considered and disposed of by the respondent. The petitioner stated that the date of expiry of the passport is 17.05.2015 and well before that the petitioner made the application, which is acknowledged on 30.04.2015 by the respondent. In the facts and circumstances of the case, it is appropriate to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 23.04.2015, and pass appropriate orders thereon, expeditiously, in any case within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
