THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION No. 35541 of 2016 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

Petitioner states that he is the holder of passport bearing No. E3416670 issued on 26.09.2002. Thereafter, he went abroad and after coming to India, he noticed that his name was wrongly entered and the same is not consistent with the name entered in the Aadhaar Card. Therefore, he approached the respondent for correction of his name in the passport. He also submitted relevant documents and when no action was taken by respondent, the present writ petition is filed.

Even after granting sufficient time, the respondent has not filed counter-affidavit.

It is represented by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner filed an application, dated 26.03.2014, seeking issuance of new passport.

In the circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to consider the application, dated 26.03.2014, and issue new passport to the petitioner in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
