Petitioner was placed under suspension by order dated 19.05.2016 w.e.f. 10.05.2016 on which date, he was arrested and detained in custody and was in custody for more than 48 hours. On review of suspension, further suspension is continued by order dated 19.05.2018.

When the matter is taken up, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has since attained the age of superannuation, there is nothing survives in the Writ Petition. 4.

The Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed. However, regulation of period of suspension shall ultimately abide the result in the criminal proceedings. Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
