ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the 1st respondent in not disposing of the appeal dated 3.5.2012 filed by the petitioner against the order dated 2.4.2012 passed by the 2nd respondent as arbitrary and illegal.
The petitioner is a Lecturer in Zoology in 3rd respondentCollege. While so, the 3rd respondent imposed punishment of stoppage of two annual grade increments with cumulative effect vide order dated 9.8.2010 against him. Aggrieved by the same, he preferred an appeal before the 2nd respondent on 2.9.2010, which was rejected. Thereafter, he filed another appeal before the 1st respondent assailing the proceedings dated 2.4.2012 and the same is pending.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that though the first respondent fixed the date of hearing of the appeal on 06.02.2014 and 5.3.2014 to come along with connected material and record without fail, hearing of the appeal has not taken place and it is kept pending without passing any orders.
Under these circumstances, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to hear and dispose of the appeal in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
