HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.22197 OF 2017 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking to declare the action of the 2nd respondent in interfering with business activity of the petitioner and in insisting to pay advertisement tax for the name board/hoardings erected on the premises of the petitioner bearing No.16-2674/3, Malakpet, Hyderabad, without issuing any notice, as illegal and arbitrary.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 3.

The main grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner erected a name board in the business premises only, for the purpose of identification of shop and business establishment and that the officials of the 2nd respondent came to the premises and are insisting to pay advertisement tax, without issuing any notice.

Sri P. Kesava Rao, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent submitted that the 2nd respondent is taking steps to issue a notice to the petitioner and after issuance of notice, appropriate action will be taken.

Recording the above submission, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. However, the respondents are directed not to take any coercive steps against the petitioner till then. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
