HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION NO.25238 OF 2017 ORDER:

Though learned counsel for petitioners made elaborate submissions, on instructions, he states that petitioners confine their grievance, for the present, to furnishing of information sought by the petitioners on 25.10.2016 under the Right to Information Act.

According to the learned counsel for petitioners, representation was made on 25.10.2016 to furnish information under the Right to Information Act, but so far information is not furnished. A reminder was also given to the Revenue Divisional Officer on 13.3.2017, but the same is not accepted upon. 3.

In response, learned Government Pleader submits that application is made in the form of representation to the Tahsildar, but ordinarily the same should be made to the Public Information Officer concerned.

Without entering into the controversy as to who is the competent authority, writ petition is disposed of directing the Tahsildar, Gandimaisamma Dundigal, Medchal District, to pass orders on the application made under the Right to Information Act on 25.10.2016. If he is not the Public Information Officer, he shall forward the same to the Public Information Officer and the Public Information Officer shall examine the same and furnish information as required or furnish suitable reply in response to the request made on 25.10.2016. Such information shall be furnished

or response be given within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs. ___________________________ JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO kkm
