The grievance of the petitioner was that the State was not granting remission to his brother who was undergoing sentence.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, relying on the written instructions dated 16.06.2015 received from the Superintendent, Central Prison, Kadapa, informed this Court that the petitioner's brother was released on expiry of sentence under the remission rules as he had earned 826 days of remission. The release was stated to have been effected on 09.05.2012.

In the light of the afore-stated development, the cause in this writ petition does not survive for consideration.

The writ petition is accordingly closed.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand closed. No order as to costs.
