THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE C. PRAVEEN KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.23135 OF 2017 ORDER:
This Writ Petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, came to be filed seeking to declare the action of the respondents in opening Rowdy Sheet against the petitioner and continuing the same, as illegal and arbitrary. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home appearing for respondent Nos.1 to 4. With their consent, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission itself.
Though various grounds are raised in the writ petition, the learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer, seeking a direction to the respondents-Police to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 22.06.2017, at the earliest. The learned AGP would submit that the respondents may be directed to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner, if the same is still pending consideration, in accordance with law. Having regard to the above, without going into the merits of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondentsPolice to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner on 22.06.2017 seeking closure of Rowdy Sheet opened against him and pending on the file of the 4th respondent, in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Miscellaneous petitions pending in this writ petition, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
