Petitioner was removed from service as Home guard on the ground that he was involved in a criminal case. Petitioner was accused in S.C.No.5 of 2015 on the file of Special Judge for Trial of cases under SCs/STs (POA) Act cum V Additional District and Sessions Judge, Adilabad. By judgment dated 03.01.2017 petitioner was acquitted in the said criminal case. After his acquittal petitioner submitted a representation on 07.02.2017 to the Superintendent of Police, Adilabad, Adilabad District (5th respondent) to reinstate him into service as Home guard. Alleging inaction on the said representation, this writ petition is filed. 3.

Since petitioner has already submitted a representation praying to reinstate him into service, in view of the acquittal granted, this Court is not inclined to entertain the writ petition and keep the writ petition pending.

Having regard to the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 5th respondent to examine the claim of the petitioner ventilated in his representation dated 07.02.2017 and pass appropriate orders, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two (2) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
