When the matter is taken up for hearing, none appeared for the petitioner as well as the respondents in spite of the fact that the writ petition is listed under the caption 'for dismissal'. From a perusal of the record, it is noticed that the petitioner is challenging the action of the respondents in not accepting his application under the Andhra Pradesh Employees Voluntary Retirement Scheme 2000. Since the petitioner is aged about 66 years by now, he would have retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. Therefore, this Court is of the considered view that the cause in the writ petition does not survive. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. No costs.
