There is no representation on behalf of the petitioners. 2.

The prayer sought in the writ petition is as under: " ... Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ, order or direction, more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents 1 to 3 in harrassing the petitioners and coercing them for payment of amounts covered by settlement deed dated 10.02.2014 reduced into writing in II Town Police Station, Godavarikhani to the respondents 5 and 6 and also to declare the said settlement deed as illegal, arbitrary and consequently direct the respondents 1 to 3 not to harass the petitioners for payment of amounts covered by the above settlement deed to respondent Nos. 5 & 6 and pass such other order or orders as the Honourable Court deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Learned Government Pleader placed on record the written instructions dated 24.06.2014 issued by the Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, II Town Police Station, Godavarikhani, Karimnagar District never harassed, threatened and interfered with the life, liberty and civil disputes between the petitioners and respondents 5 and 6 at any point of time.

From a perusal of the said written instructions, it is revealed that, in fact, as on the date of furnishing written instructions, no criminal cases were registered against the petitioners herein on the file of the II Town Police Station, Godavarikhani. The contention of the petitioners that the respondent police at the behest of the respondents 5 and 6 have harassed and threatened the petitioners with dire consequences to pay the amount to the respondents 5 and 6 and detained the petitioners in the police station on 10.02.2014 and obtained the signatures on stamp papers is also specifically denied. It is further mentioned in the written instructions

that there is a civil dispute between the petitioners and respondents 5 and 6 with regard to money transaction and the petitioners are unnecessarily involving the police into civil litigation for which the police has nothing to do with it.

In that view of the matter, this Court is of the opinion that there are no merits in the writ petition and the same is liable to be dismissed.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.
