Heard the learned counsel for petitioner and Sri Chintalapudi Srinivas, learned counsel for the respondent Nos.3 to 6.

2. Petitioner has filed this Writ Petition apprehending that the respondents may allot new shops by way of licence in the lemon market yard of Podalakuru arbitrarily and possibly at the directions of the local political leaders.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that allotment should only be by transparent method of public auction after giving adequate publicity for the same and the 6th respondent cannot allot the same arbitrarily by any other method.

4. Sri Chintalapudi Srinivas, learned Standing Counsel for respondent Nos.3 to 6, states that 6th respondent will make allotment only to the highest bidder in the pubic auction to be conducted by it after wide publicity is given for the said auction.

5. Therefore, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing respondent Nos.3 to 6 to give an advertisement in the local papers in vernacular inviting applications for allotment by public auction and also by putting up a notification of the auction in the notice board of the 6th respondent market committee office, conduct a public auction as per the same, after giving opportunity to the petitioner as well to bid in the said auction and then allot the same to the highest bidder. No costs.

6. As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall stand closed.
