HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN Writ Petition No.25834 of 2007 ORDER:

Election of the 4th respondent as a Sarpanch was questioned by the petitioner before the Special Officer, Election Tribunal-cumPrincipal Junior Civil Judge, Tenali, Guntur District by way of O.P.No.8 of 2006. The said O.P. was dismissed by order dated 19.11.2007, questioning which the present Writ Petition was filed in the year 2007 nearly a decade ago. Interim stay was granted on 06.12.2007 which was extended thereafter. The petition filed to vacate the stay was dismissed by order dated 18.02.2008. As the term of office of the Sarpanch pursuant to the election held on 06.08.2006 expired nearly six years ago in the year 2011, the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive and the Writ Petition has become infructuous.

The Writ Petition is, accordingly, dismissed as infructuous. The Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
