Petitioner participated in the selections conducted pursuant to the recruitment notification dated 31.12.2015 to the posts of Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (Civil) and he was selected treating him as a local candidate of Ranga Reddy District. However, it appears, on verification of the certificates, the State Level Police Recruitment Board noticed that the petitioner is not a local candidate of Ranga Reddy District and therefore show cause notice dated 16.05.2017 was issued calling upon him to submit explanation as to why his selection should not be cancelled. Petitioner submitted explanation on 24.05.2017. Alleging inaction on the explanation submitted by the petitioner and the selected candidates are deputed for training, this Writ Petition is filed praying to grant direction to the respondents to send the petitioner for training.

It is not in dispute that the respondent - Board doubts the claim of the petitioner as a local candidate of Ranga Reddy District. The issue requires consideration and taking a decision by the Board. Thus, at this stage, no direction to depute the petitioner for training can be granted when the very selection is now under review. However, the respondent - Board cannot keep quiet even after submission of explanation by the petitioner, more so when the selected candidates are deputed for training. 3.

Having regard to these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the

case, directing the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to take a decision in pursuance of the show cause notice dated 16.05.2017, duly considering the explanation submitted by the petitioner on 24.05.2017, as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the decision is against the petitioner, it is always open to him to work out his remedies. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
