Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondent - University. 2.

Petitioner was appointed as Steward-cum-Cook in the respondent - University. By Memo, dated 08.03.2018, he was placed under suspension on the allegation of involvement in a criminal case, arrest and in custody for 15 days from 17.12.2017 to 31.12.2017.

Petitioner challenges further continuation of suspension against him.

According to learned counsel for the petitioner, petitioner is due for retirement on 31.08.2018 and if suspension against him is not revoked, grave prejudice would be caused to him. Learned counsel submits that the allegation on which petitioner was implicated in the criminal case is nothing to do with his employment and registration of a criminal case against him is totally unwarranted. He further submits that petitioner made a representation on 29.03.2018 in response to the Memo, dated 08.03.2018, seeking for revocation of suspension, but so far no orders are passed on the said representation. 4.

Having regard to the said submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Registrar of the respondent - University to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.03.2018, for revocation of suspension and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two weeks

from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
