HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE C.PRAVEEN KUMAR CONTEMPT CASE No.709 of 2017 ORDER:

The present Contempt Case is filed under Sections 10 to 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act stating that the respondents have willfully and deliberately disobeyed the order dated 14.06.2016 passed in W.P.No.18434 of 2016.

A perusal of the order dated 14.06.2016 passed in W.P.No.18434 of 2016 would show that the respondent authorities were directed to file a final report in Crime No.100 of 2016 of Airport Police Station, Visakhapatnam, in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of five to six months. A counter came to be filed by the Inspector of Police, stating that though there is some delay in filing the final report, but ultimately the police investigated into the matter and closed the case as " false" vide orders in C.No.s419/ Refer/ ACP-West/ 2017, dated 30.05.2017, of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, West Sub-Division, Visakhapatnam City.

In view of the fact that the police have investigated into the crime and filed a final report, nothing survives for adjudication in this contempt case and accordingly, the Contempt Case is closed. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
