HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO ORDER:
Petitioner is a Conductor. On the allegation of cash and ticket irregularities while performing his duties on the route Choutuppal - Valigonda at about 1115 hours on 18.07.2018, he was placed under suspension. On the same day, charge memo was also drawn alleging cash and ticket irregularities. It appears petitioner filed his explanation. So far no further decision is taken by the disciplinary authority. This writ petition is filed challenging the order of suspension.

The Depot Manager is the disciplinary authority and is competent to place a Conductor under suspension. Prima facie, reading of the order of suspension would disclose that as per the material placed before him, it was alleged that petitioner indulged in cash and ticket irregularities. Thus, it cannot be said that there was no application of mind and mechanically order of suspension was resorted to.

At this stage, learned counsel for petitioner requests that time limit may be fixed for completing disciplinary proceedings. Learned standing counsel would submit that two months time is required for the disciplinary authority to take appropriate course of action and finalize the disciplinary proceedings. 4.
Having regard to these submissions, without expressing any opinion on tenability of the charge leveled against petitioner, Writ Petition is disposed of directing the disciplinary authority to complete disciplinary proceedings, if he intends to take disciplinary
action, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Pending miscellaneous petitions shall stand closed.
