The grievance of the petitioner is that the police authorities did not receive his complaint dated 24.09.2011 and were not taking action in accordance with law in connection with the death of his sister.

The Sub-Inspector of Police, Annasagar Police Station, Mahabubnagar District, filed a counter-affidavit stating that basing upon the petitioner's complaint dated 12.08.2011, Crime No.134 of 2011 was registered under Sections 306 and 498-A I.P.C. on the file of the Annasagar Police Station, Mahabubnagar District, and investigation was taken up. He further stated that the accused, the 3rd respondent herein, being the husband of the deceased sister of the petitioner, was arrested on 29.09.2011 and sent to judicial custody. He further stated that the report of the Forensic Science Laboratory indicated that the cause of death was due to ingestion

of an insecticide and that enquiry with five witnesses had revealed that the petitioner's sister had committed suicide due to the harassment meted out to her by the 3rd respondent. The Sub-Inspector however stated that further investigation was in progress and that the case would be finalized expeditiously. This counter was filed on 18.11.2011 and no reply was filed by the petitioner rebutting the averments made therein.

In the light of the above, it is clear that the grievance of the petitioner that the police authorities were inactive upon his complaint is without basis. The writ petition is therefore dismissed.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
