Heard the counsel for petitioner, and the learned Government Pleader for respondents.

The petitioner herein competed in the selection to the post of Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constable pursuant to a recruitment notification dt.31.12.2015.

There was a dispute about physical measurements regarding height of the petitioner since according to petitioner he possessed a height more than the prescribed height of 167.6 cms. But at different points of time, according to petitioner, on account of wrong measurements, lesser height was noted.

To resolve this dispute, by order dt.25.04.2017, this Court directed that the petitioner's height be measured in the presence of the District Inspector of Legal Metrology, Medical Officer and Chief Superintendent, and also to videograph the measurements. 5.

Pursuant to the said order, the height of the petitioner was measured by the said officials and it was determined that the petitioner was of height 166.6 cms, which is 1.00 cm less than the prescribed height of 167.6 cms.

Having regard to the said determination, since the petitioner does not fulfill the standards of height prescribed for appointment to the said post, I hold that the petitioner is not entitled to any relief in the Writ Petition.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending if any in this Writ Petition, shall stand closed.
