Heard Sri V. Narasimha Goud, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Sri N. Vasudeva Reddy, learned standing counsel for the respondents-Corporation.
2. The petitioner was initially appointed as a cleaner in the Corporation on 13.11.1982 under Sports quota in Medak District
through due process of selection. Subsequently, he was promoted as Helper on 04.05.1998. In the seniority list of Helpers prepared by the 2nd respondent vide proceedings dated 06.12.2012, the petitioner was at Sl.No.13. A trade test was conducted on 04.12.2010 by the 2nd respondent for the Helpers in order to promote them to the post of Mechanic. The petitioner is one among eight candidates, who passed the trade test. Thereafter, out of eight candidates, seven candidates were promoted as Mechanics vide proceedings dated 04.01.2011. The grievance of the petitioner is that no reasons were assigned for not promoting him on par with his co-workers and some of his juniors in the merit list were also promoted. The petitioner made several oral requests and also made written representations dated 10.10.2012 to the 2nd respondent and 30.09.
2013 to the 3rd respondent. Thereafter, he submitted another representation dated on 17.03.2015 to the 3rd respondent. As there was no response from the respondents, the petitioner got issued a legal notice dated 13.05.2015 narrating the circumstances relating to denial of promotion to him.

Under these circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission, directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Mechanic, taking into consideration the representation submitted by him and also legal notice got issued by him and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, in this writ petition shall stand closed in consequence.
