This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief: "to issue writ of mandamus to declare the seizure of green Gram 110 Qtls value of Rs.67,100/- Black Gram 838 Qtls. Rs.77,09,600/- the total value of Stocks is Rs.83,80,600/- under the cover of panchanama dated 1-4-2016 is illegal, improper and without any power or authority under law."
Heard, Sri V.H.V.R.R. Swamy, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies appearing for respondents.
Pursuant to the seizure of essential commodities the District Collector initiated proceedings under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
When the matter is called, a request is made by learned counsel for the petitioner to direct the District Collector to complete proceedings under Section 6-A of Essential Commodities Act, 1955 by fixing some timeframe.
On the other hand, learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies submits that the same will be completed, as expeditiously as possible.
Recording the said submission, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent herein to complete the proceedings under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and pass final orders in E.C.P.No.39 of 2016, within a period of two (2) months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
