HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN WRIT PETITION No.16513 of 2007 ORDER:

The Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of the respondents in transferring the petitioners outside the region. In the counter-affidavit filed by the respondent, it is stated that, even though the petitioners are transferred outside the region, their original seniority is being maintained.

Both Smt. G. Udaya Sri, Learned Counsel for the petitioner and Sri Arun Kumar Lathker, Learned Standing Counsel for APSTRC, would submit that, consequent on a change in the regional set up, the seniority is now maintained on a zonal basis, and all the petitioners come under the same zone. If that be so, the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive, and the Writ Petition has become infructuous. The Writ Petition is, accordingly, dismissed. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall also stand closed. No costs.
