This writ petition is filed by the petitioners aggrieved by the non-release of maintenance grant to the petitioners' schools in terms of G.O.Ms.No.320 dated 16-09-1994 for the periods from 2015-2016 to 2017-2018.

2. According to the case of the petitioners, the Auditing Department has audited the accounts of the petitioners' schools and even submitted a report in respect thereof. In spite of it, the respondents-authorities keeping the matter with them by not releasing the maintenance grant to the petitioners' schools in terms of G.O.Ms.No.320 dated 16-091994. Hence, this writ petition.

3. Heard both sides and considered the material on record.

4. In the light of the above facts and circumstances, the respondents are directed to pass appropriate orders in respect of release of the maintenance grant in favour of the petitioners' schools expeditiously, preferably, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this case shall also stand disposed of. There shall no order as to costs.
