THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.V. SESHA SAI WRIT PETITION No.26275 of 2012 ORDER:
This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:
"to issue writ of Mandamus to declare the action of the respondents in providing police protection to the petitioner in respect of land in Sy. No. 102/3 of Pasupugallu Village, Mandlamaru Mandal, Prakasam District, admeasuring an extent of Ac. 18.42 cents as arbitrary, illegal and consequently direct the respondents to provide police protection."
Heard Smt.K. Lalitha, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Home for respondents, apart from perusing the material available before this Court. Today, when the matter is called, written instructions, dated 27-08-2012 furnished by the Sub-Inspector of Police, Mundlamuru Police Station, Prakasam District have been placed on record by the learned Government Pleader for Home and the said instructions read as under:

Upon receipt of the representation, the Addl. Superintendent of Police, Prakasam District at Ongole endorsed it on 06-08-2012 and forwarded the same to the Sub-Inspector of Police, Mullamur Police Station to take action according to law.
I submit that although the petitioner submitted his representation to the higher-ups, he did not approach this respondent Police Station till date. I humbly submit that this respondent assure to this Hon'ble Court that necessary action will be taken on the representation of the petitioner after consultation with the revenue authorities including providing police protection.
It is always open for the petitioner to approach the respondent police with proper documentary evidence to show
his claim to enable the police to provide police protection in consultation with the revenue officials."
On noticing the above said instructions, learned counsel for the petitioner has requested this Court to record the said instructions and close the writ petition.
In view of the above, the writ petition stands closed, by recording the written instructions, dated 27-08-2012 furnished by the Sub-Inspector of Police, Mundlamuru Police Station, Prakasam District. It is also made clear that the police authorities shall act in accordance with law.
