THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE VILAS V.AFZULPURKAR WRIT PETITION No.40896 OF 2015 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Government Pleader for Revenue and learned Government Pleader for Social Welfare.

The petitioners seek cancellation of the award which was passed on 29.03.1977 and seek consideration of their representation, dated 11.07.2015. There is no law which permits cancellation of an award passed under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short, 'the Act') and such request of the petitioners seeking consideration of their representation cannot be acceded to nor there can be a direction to reconvey the lands, as the lands were apparently acquired under the Act, wherein there is no provision for re-conveyance of the acquired lands.

The Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
