THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION NO.20478 OF 2011
O R D E R
The grievance of the petitioners in this case was that the Station House
Officer, Kanaganapalli Police Station, Kanaganapalli Mandal, Anantapur District, was interfering with their property and calling them to the police station. They further alleged that he was harassing and pressurizing them at the behest of the third respondent.
The Sub-Inspector of Police, Kanaganapalli Police Station, Anantapur District, filed a counter-affidavit stating that the third respondent had complained to the Superintendent of Police, Anantapur District, that she was being harassed by her husband and in-laws, the petitioners herein. Pursuant thereto, the police authorities enquired into the matter and in the course of this exercise, the third respondent, her husband and the petitioners came to the police station premises. He further stated that as the matter involved a civil dispute, the police did not interfere thereafter. Sri K.Ram Mohan Chowdary, learned counsel for the petitioners, states that presently there are no disputes between the petitioners and the third respondent. In that view of the matter and keeping in mind the stand reflected in the counter-affidavit filed by the police, this Court is of the opinion that the cause does not survive for consideration on merits.
The writ petition is accordingly closed. Pending miscellaneous petitions shall also stand closed. No order as to costs.
