HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN Writ Petition No.6317 of 2011 ORDER:

The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is to declare the action of the respondents in insisting on the petitioner producing proof of live independent P.F. code at the time of awarding works, as arbitrary and illegal.

By way of interim relief, the petitioner sought a direction to the respondents not to insist on proof of live independent P.F. code at the time of awarding the works. This Court, by order in W.P.M.P.No.7866 of 2011 dated 14.03.2011, granted interim direction as prayed for.

In the light of the interim order, the petitioner was not obligated to provide proof of live independent P.F. code at the time of awarding works. The interim order was passed on 14.03.2011 more than 61⁄2 years ago. The works, for which a live independent P.F. code was insisted upon, must have been executed long ago. It is evident, therefore, that the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court, and the Writ Petition has become infructuous.

The Writ Petition is, accordingly, dismissed as infructuous. The Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
