Heard.

The petitioner is a proprietor of M/s.Srinivas Trading Company and running business of Food Grains and Pulses. The licence of the petitioner is valid upto 31-03-2015 and the petitioner has submitted an application for renewal before expiry of the said licence period. While so, on 19-06-2015, the 3rd respondent along with staff visited the business premises of the petitioner and seized the entire stock of edible oils worth Rs.7,51,140/- on the ground that there is a variation in the stock when verified the stock register and ground balance. The proceedings were initiated under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act. Now, the present writ petition is filed seeking indulgence of this Court for a direction to the 2nd respondent not to sell the seized stock pending disposal of 6-A proceedings. The seized stock is of edible oil worth Rs.7,51,140/-. The panchanama was conducted on 19-06-2015. A notice under Section 6-B of the Essential Commodities Act was issued on 26-06-2015 fixing the date of hearing as 10-07-2015.

In the circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent not to sell the seized stock and complete the enquiry under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act, within a period of sixty days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
