THE HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE SRI KALYAN JYOTI SENGUPTA AND THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR PUBLIC INTEREST LITIGATION NO.214 OF 2014 ORDER: (per the Hon'ble The Chief Justice Sri Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta) Though no counter affidavit is filed, learned Government Pleader appearing for the State of Telangana submits and assures this Court that the Committees as required under Section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Water, Land and Trees Act, 2002, will be constituted within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Therefore, we direct the Government to constitute the Committees within the
time as mentioned by the learned Government Pleader. As far as other reliefs sought for in this writ petition are concerned, in terms of the order passed by this Court in another writ petition, steps have already been taken to identify the water bodies and also to protect and preserve the same in all respects and therefore there is no need to pass a separate order in that regard. The writ petition is accordingly closed.
Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand closed. There will be no order as to costs.
