HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAJASHEKER REDDY WRIT PETITON No.28729 of 2018 ORDER:

Learned counsel for the petitioner says that the petitioner applied for passport and the same was assigned File No.V J 1060872522718, dated 18-01-2018. But as on today no orders are passed on the same. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition is filed.

Sri M.Indrani, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for respondents 2 and 3, basing on written instructions submits that two passports with same particulars are already existing and they also addressed to Consulate General of India, New York asking for clarification and reminder was also sent on 10-08-2018 regarding the same.

It is to be seen that when the application was filed by the petitioner in the month of January, 2018, the 2nd respondent is obligated to pass orders on the same within reasonable time. But the 2nd respondent cannot keep the application pending for a long time without passing any order. In view of the same, the objections raised by learned Standing Counsel by way of written instructions have to be considered by the 2nd respondent while disposing of the application of the petitioner.

In view of the same, the 2nd respondent is directed to dispose of the application of the petitioner in file No. V J 1060872522718, dated 18-01-2018 in accordance with law

and pass orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner. If the petitioner is aggrieved, he can challenge the same.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. As a sequel to the disposal of this petition, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed. _________________________ A.RAJASHEKER REDDY,J 27-08-2018 Note:
