WRIT PETITION NO. 28583 OF 2016 O R D E R :

Pursuant to order dated 26/8/2016, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of respondents 1 and 2 submits that the application of the petitioner for issue of passport has not been rejected, however, pending for disposal.

2. Keeping in view the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the petition and submission of counsel for the petitioner, I hereby direct the second respondent to consider the application of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The decision taken by the second respondent shall be communicated to the petitioner in writing within one week thereafter.

4. In view of the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission. No order as to costs.

5. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
