THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION No.14263 of 2015 ORDER:

This petition is filed by the petitioner - Accused No.4 under Sections 438 of Criminal Procedure Code seeking to grant bail in Crime No.124 of 2015 on the file of II Town Police Station, Chittoor District, for the offences punishable under Sections 379 and 120-B IPC and 20(1) (c) (iii) (iv) (x) of AP Forest Act and Rule 3 & 4 of AP Sandal Wood Transit Rules and 29 of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 55 (2) and 58 of Biological Diversity Act.

Heard and perused the material available on record. The allegation against the petitioner is that he, along with other accused, was involved in illegal transportation of red sandalwood logs.

Learned Public Prosecutor objected for grant of bail to the petitioner since the petitioner was involved in several other cases, which are similar to the present case.

In view of the above, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The Criminal Petition is dismissed, accordingly. ______________ RAJA ELANGO, J January 07, 2016.
