THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN AND THE HON'BLE SMT JUSTICE ANIS WRIT PETITION No. 27877 of 2016 ORDER: (Per VRS,J) The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition, seeking a Mandamus to direct the respondents to treat him as a local candidate in SVU area of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
2. Heard Mr. O. Manoher Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr. Taddi Nageswara Rao, learned standing counsel for Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, appearing for the 2nd respondent.
3. Following the Presidential Order issued in G.O.Ms.No.132, General Administration (SPF & MC) Department, dated 13.06.2016, we issued interim directions in a few cases. Pursuant to those interim directions, the Government had already issued a Circular Memo, dated 08.08.2016.
4. In the light of the G.O.Ms.No.132, dated 13.06.2016, and the Circular Memo, dated 08.08.2016, the Writ
Petition is disposed of, directing the respondents to grant the benefit of local area status to the petitioner, upon his complying with the requirement under Paragraph No.4(d) of the Circular Memo, dated 08.08.2016.
Consequently, miscellaneous petitions if any pending in the writ petitions shall stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
