Petitioner claims that he was appointed as Field Assistant of Ratnagiri

Gram Panchayat in the year 2006. His services were terminated by proceedings dated 11.8.2014. Aggrieved thereby, petitioner filed an appeal to the District Collector on 11.9.2014 and the same is pending consideration. Alleging that no orders are passed on his appeal and questioning the termination, petitioner filed the present writ petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel for petitioner, learned Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj (AP), Mr M.S.R.Chandra Murthy, learned special counsel for respondents 3 and 4 and Sri G Sheshadri, learned standing counsel for respondent No. 5.

3. It is represented by learned counsel for petitioner as well as learned special counsel appearing for respondents 3 and 4 that since appeal is pending, direction may be issued to District Collector to pass appropriate orders in the appeal.

4. Since petitioner is claiming that the appeal is pending, without expressing any opinion on merits of the matter, writ petition is disposed of directing the third respondent-District Collector to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner on 11.9.2014 and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of orders. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
